Smart Tips
We have added a module allowing customizing prompt chains for operator. Prompts can contain brief summaries of instructions, recommendations, or additional information to assist the operator in managing the monitored process.

Activation and content of prompts can be configured based on parameter values, previous actions, or specified trigger conditions. This feature helps inexperienced operators make faster and more accurate decisions, reducing the likelihood of errors.

New Device Communication Protocol
In SmartICS 3.8, we support the S7 protocol for communicating with devices on the Profinet network. Protocol support significantly simplifies the integration of Siemens 200-1500 series controllers without the use of OPC servers.

Changes to Password Policy
In the latest SmartICS release, we’ve strengthened system security by introducing password expiration controls and enhanced password validation. Administrators can now enforce periodic password changes with configurable expiry intervals, while the system automatically checks new passwords for strength and prevents reuse of previous credentials. These measures reduce the risk of unauthorized access, help meet corporate security policies and compliance requirements, and simplify audit and access-management processes.
