SmartICS 3.6: New Protocol Support and Data Exchange with Databases

We are happy to announce the release of a new version of the SmartICS software platform, which is already available upon request. In release 3.6, we have expanded the list of supported protocols, implemented data exchange with databases, and refined and improved existing functions.

Data Exchange with Databases

In the SmartICS 3.6 release, we have implemented the receipt and transmission of data to third-party databases such as Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. It allows for a single and complete picture of production processes, resources, stocks, and product quality; automates the collection, storage, and processing of data, thereby reducing errors associated with manual input; speeds up and improves decision-making due to prompt access to relevant data.

BACnet Protocol

In the new release, we support the BACnet protocol, which is widely used in BMS (building management systems) projects. A special feature of this protocol is the presence of additional data from devices, for example, whether a tag belongs to a specific device, signal measurement units, and grouping signals by devices or systems.

Protocol support provides an open communication standard between devices and building management systems, ensuring compatibility and unification of lighting equipment, climate control, security, and other engineering systems. Protocol support also allows you to effectively manage and control buildings through a unified protocol, and ensures the scalability and flexibility of systems.

Card Unification

We have unified the grid-card, map-card, and free-layout-card into a single card type: the free-layout-card. This allows users to freely create and arrange interface elements without standard template constraints. It supports flexible dashboard configurations, efficient space use, and easy adjustment of element positions and spacing.

Reports via Scripts

The function allows you to automatically generate a report based on a selected template under a selected condition using scripts. The condition can be any event in the system: an emergency value for a signal, time, a set of conditions, or any other programmable condition. The user has access to: generating reports from templates, sending generated reports to email and messenger, saving reports to a specified folder, deleting generated reports with a late timestamp, and other functions.

HTTP Protocol in Scripts

The script module has the ability to use the HTTP protocol. Using the HTTP protocol in scripts allows you to automate access to Internet resources, obtain the necessary information, interact with APIs and web services without the need for manual intervention.

Automatic Detection of an SNMP Device

This function of SmartICS 3.6 enables automatic template creation for SNMP devices by recognizing device types and characteristics upon network addition without manual setup. It checks for matching OIDs and applies the corresponding template, generating a dashboard from just the connection address. This streamlines implementation, speeds configuration, enhances device management accuracy, and is particularly beneficial for large, diverse networks.

Historical Data for Widgets

Users now can create widgets that can use historical data, and not just the current value. The user can select a string parameter, which will contain a prepared JSON object with data used in the custom widget.
