The company has installed SmartPTT PLUS dispatch software with its MOTOTRBO™ Capacity Max radio system. They use AdapTel devices and SmartICS software platform to interface to the radio system and remotely monitor and control their facility.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The installed SmartPTT system consists of a 10 channel Capacity Max system, 875 subscriber radios, and 17 dispatch positions that were distributed between 3 departments. Transportation, Security, and Overhead Crane departments all have dispatch consoles configured specifically for each department to meet their individual needs.
For instance, some departments needed the ability to open and close gates/doors, to activate road crossing signs, and to turn on warning lights in specific areas.
Now the SmartICS SCADA system with 2 AdapTel devices acting as RTU’s allow dispatchers to remotely open and close 16 gates & doors throughout their facilities.

COST REDUCTION
Due to the integration capabilities of the SmartPTT dispatch and SmartPTT SCADA software, all necessary features (voice & data, logging, telemetry, GPS tracking, etc.) were provided in one solution without the need to purchase other software and hardware from other vendors.

SmartPTT software allows the client to utilize one server to log and record both the radio events and traffic as well as the SCADA events and information in one place for easy control and reporting.

Remote control of gates & doors via the control room saved time and reduced the labor needed to run the facility freeing up staff to work on more important matters.

Using SmartICS enhanced the protection of the facilities by allowing the company to decrease delays or errors, respond to emergencies faster, and export detailed reports of all data in the system.
